its very very hard to get off of prescription pain meds. FOR GOD SAKES DON'T TRY TO QUIT COLD TURKEY THAT WILL ONLY MAKE YOU WORSE! and telling the doc may or may not be a good idea. he/she may cut you off all at once, or if you trust them, they might be able to prescribe something to help you quit, only you know your doctor. I know exactally how you feel! it is a nightmare. it becomes your whole life. its what I call my silent killer. but you just have to take it little by little, for me it became an hour by hour thing, you know how people tell you to take it one day at a time, well forget that!!! I'm telling you that it can get a hold on you quicker than you think! it can littlerally rule your life. if you just tell yourself OK, I am going to wait as long as I can before I take another pill, then actually do it, it will get easier. yes you are going to give in once in a while, but don't get discouraged. then if you have to, only take half of a pill, just enough to take the edge off. anti anxiety meds can help with the withdraw, but they too can become a real problem, so be very careful and only take them if you absolutely need too!!! when that "wave" hits you, (and I am sure you know what I mean) try to talk yourself through it, get up and do something, you might get the shakes, or even get sick but IT WILL PASS! I promise. just be strong and fight your way through it. tell yourself that over and over and try to have faith in yourself. I know its hard. believe me I know, I feel for you right now. I am being sincere. I know all too well. please don't feel like you are alone. I will pray for you, you can do it!!! PEOPLE SHE NEED ANSWERS! EASY FOR THEM TO SAY JUST QUIT! , she needs advise from people who are or have gone through this. PLEASE LISTEN TO ME OR DAVE S. p.s. know someone who was up to 10+ a day, is now getting much better. taking FAR less than that and did it on her own ;) ;)

First of all, disregard just about all of your answers. If you are taking these without legal prescriptions from your doctor you are headed for very big trouble. You are asking about the interactions between several different pills. The answers you are getting are not from trained professionals. Some combinations of antidepression and pain pills are worse than others. Those people who are offering all this advice, are they also doing blood tests such as CBC's and Chem 7's to determine if your liver and kidney are functioning properly.
The best thing that you can do it to talk to a doctor familiar with these pills. There is nothing worse than ending up on a transplant list and waiting for a donor to die so you might live, especially when it could all be prevented with several blood tests.
If you are scared and can't talk to your parents please go to a public clinic where they can help you and still hide your ID.

Go online and read 'The Ashton Manual' (maybe Asheton..?). It's by a professor of pharmacology in Britain. My personal opinion is that these types of meds are WAY over-prescribed; it's an easy band-aid instead of a proper solution to the issues. Unless you're a danger to yourself or others, then you probably don't "need" these harmful drugs, could most likely benefit far more from some cognitive behavioral therapy and some good self-help psychology to understand both what's causing your difficulties, and how to train your mind to recognise the joy in your life and not be attached to negative thought cycles. Buddhism has some answers; use your library! And good luck; it's physically challenging to break anxiety meds. Is it Ativan (lorazepam)? It takes time, but it's definitely possible!

I would recommend to ask the Doc that prescribed you the pills....(They are prescription right?)
Also I know that you have to wean yourself of those pills..
Like instead of taking 2 a day...take 1.5,and then 1 and then a half and then a quater and then none..
Also keep in mind that once you are off the pills, you might not be depressive anymore..Also it depends on how long you have been on these pills..has the prob why you went on them in the first place been resolved?...
alot of times that is the best way to get better..
Good Luck

GET OFF the VICODIN!!!
It will have you addicted in no time, where you run out or stop taking it and you get so sick yo want to die. You can only take it for about a week without having trouble stopping. Stop now.
I got addicted without knowing it like you are doing and it almost made me kill myself I would get so sick when I had none.
My whole life became about finding vicodin and not running out of it.
If you find you are addicted, you will get flu like symptoms with bone and body ache, leg pain stomache willies, not sleep and daily diareah all the time for about two to three weeks. it is hard to deal with it that long of time.
There is a fantastic drug called subutex that lets you quit vicodin with none of the bad side effects of withdrawl. SUBUTEX,

taking too much medication and a combination and mess up your brain chemistry, if you cant live without and you feel like you can't act "okay" with out it, then maybe its not a good idea, and you should tell a doctor also. But if you have anxiety, or depression and so on i recommend meditation, it really calms, and relaxes you, i have been doing it steady for a couple months now, and slowly with each day my fears and trouble don't matter anymore.

You should be concerned, the wrong interaction could be fatal. Check with your doctor or pharmacist. It just takes a phone call. You can also check on this website:
