More Tea Vicar?: If I was truly given the choice, I would take the red.

Leviathan: Yeah, you did recommend that to me. It's okay, I will get hold of a copy. Have you noticed how many people dismiss it without thought? Isn't it interesting. I guess people generally do accept the reality with which they are presented - and I guess they would be prepared to fight for that reality. It is interesting, that's all I'm saying.

Everyone: Look, this isn't about the maxtrix. The idea of a simulated reality has been around for 50,000 years since the native australians! Why would someone who believes in a simulated reality belong in a rubber room? Why are people so afraid to search for the truth? I am not saying that we DO exist in a simulated reality, I am saying that there is no way of knowing, and it is a possibility. It is very interesting.

Not me, used to wonder about it, but even if that was the truth, it wouldn't matter, because we have to deal with what we see around us.
But see if you can find a Ghost in the Machine to wake us all up, because the real reality has to be more sane than this one.

is a simulation, that has no reality it is replicating, but instead is all the reality that there is, as a persistent illusory halucination, is it any different from being real?
if Reality IS a simulation, is there a difference between real and simulation?
2 books I haven't read yet, but really want to, from such matrix-esque philosophizing, are I think it was, "The man and the cave", or something like that, and "Simulation and Simulacra" (which, happens to the the book that the booksafe neo dug the disk out of, was made from, in the beginning of the first matrix movie)

It could be construed that genuine christians are living in a simulated reality.
1 Timothy 6:18,19 exhorts:
" to be treasuring up a fine foundation for the future, in order that they may get a firm hold on the REAL life."
For Christians, this present system (world) is not the real life.

We are definitely living in a simulated reality. God created this entire universe to make a place for us to live out our lives. There are no edges to our universe which is also part of his design. It allows us to question and explore and still never manage to get the upper hand on God. By borders I mean for example molecules. Everytime, scientists crack open the smallest part, there are smaller pieces inside. Also, Space we will never find the edge of that. Also, numbers the essence of Gods creation have no beginning and no end.

It would be silly to believe that unless we have hard evidence that points to it. Not some testimony from a weirdo who has watched the Matrix too many times.
You'd enjoy 'the fabric of reality' by Deutsch - or did I already recommend that one to you?

I'll pay for every word I just said.

does it matter? if these are just simulated emotions, a simulated life, how would it make it a bad one? i mean really, if people believe it, it will be so. i don't mean to say that if i believe a bannana is in my hand it will be, but that if enough people believe in something it won't matter if it is real or not. Ever seen the movie "Krippendorf's Tribe?" watch it. enough people believe in the shellmikedmu (yes, the shellmikedmu) so they became real.

I believe that we are on this Earth to solve the the Angelic conflict.
Satan questioned God's punishment of eternal damnation to the Lake of Fire. We are the result of Satan's appeal trial.
If one person accepts Christ as Savior, on faith, the conflict is resolved.
Angels rejoice when man comes to a change of mind towards Christ.
Peace out :)

Well, I admit it's a possibility but I have no reason to believe that outright, so I assume reality is not just simulated.
