He is afraid that he will have another disaster if he opens himself up. Ex wifes and children are really hard to pacify after a miserable break-up. Try and hang in there, if you care about him give him a little time. . But don't give him alot of latitude to where you end up miserable.

If it really upsets you, then maybe you should say something to him. Just have a general chat with him, try not to have it out with him. The best thing in a relationship is being able to talk to each other, and being honest. There is no point in keeping things bottled up.

If you don’t want to talk to him about it, try showing him you love him. He might then start showing you, and telling you.

I believe - and I could be wrong - but there is normally one person that loves more than the other. I don’t think it’s a bad thing, its only natural. Like if you have children, you tend to have a favourite, you can’t help it, you just do. But it doesn’t mean you love the others any less.

I hope this helps. And good luck!

Oooh..you should sit down and talk with him about how he's treating you and how you feel. When you give your all to someone and tell them you really do love them, and that's all they can say, it's a problem. You know that his past relationship has some influence over your relationship now, but he's not doing his part either to move on. You may need to give him some space and let him think about things for a while because that is not fair to you. Good luck!

He doesnt say it because he doesnt love you and he doesnt want to lie to you. Atleast he has enough respect for you not to lie just to keep you around.

stop saying it to him. You are only making him feel pressure to say it to you and he can't and it will just make it harder for him to ever love you.

Let it go and if you are happy with everything else, dont worry about it. If you need him to love you to be happy then you better go ahead and pack. His feelings for his ex are way more complicated and go way deeper than his feelings for you (not because of anything you did wrong but because she is the mother of his children) and it's possible that he still loves her. That is something you have to prepare for.

Cant he show that he loves you in other ways rather than just telling you all the time? If you say it too often then it starts to mean less and less and becomes just like saying hello to someone

hey,no problem if he cant say that.
i see loads of people all over each other with that stuff and they soon break up.
he is actually very manly and a strong character that has reasons why he feels it is hard to say that.
often these people really love their partners.
does it matter, dont push, stay with him, make him laugh.enjoy, why so heavy.
afterall he could tell you he does a thopusand times and not really mean it.who'd really no.

My hubby tells me every day that he loves me and I always say it back but I hardly ever say it to him first. I do really love him loads but it was never something that my parents said to me or me to them so it sort of feels odd when I say it now. Our past experiences affect us deeply and as long as he shows his love for you in the way he behaves to you and talks to you that should show you that he loves you even if he finds it hard to say it. Don't leave him for this reason only if everything else is fine. If you have other problems, it may be worth looking at your relationship a bit harder.

Stop telling him. Do things that will make him realise that you are the real deal. Make him a romantic meal with candles and roses and soft music, dress up nice for him once in a while to make him think "wow". Be there for him

It is okay that he doesn't tell you that he loves you as long as he shows it. As far as the kids just respect the fact he has children they haven't done anything
