i can not install a program in my windows me because it ask for administrator privileges what can i do?

the computer was a gift but it was alrady used and it askme for administraor privileges when i try to install something.

First try asking the administrator to install it for you. Then you should consider the safe mode effect as mentioned above, but beware its very easy to get caught, then your screwed. What i did b/c i was in the same prediciment as you are is well, when the comp. admin. left his/her self signed on, sneak over go to modzilla, go to tools, options, click on security tab, go to show passwords. Copy as many passwords as you can as fast as you can. Try them out. (If it does work and you get the right password remember you can still NOT be the admin., just save the program to the desktop, and right click on the icon, click run as, and type sn/ password.) Then you must log in as administrator.

Go to Control Panel
User Account
Log on as administrator, if you dont have the password, restart your PC then press F8 just before windows satrted. Then youll enter Safe Mode, Try 1st and 2nd step, then create your account as administrator.
