I am for "equal" rights for everyone regardless of their gender. Benefits from retirement should be equal regardless of ones gender. Also, if people are required to register for military draft, that requirement should be the same regardless of what ones gender happens to be. I don't think that gender bias/discrimination should exist in our modern world--regardless of whether it benefits a male or a female. Fair is fair.

What has this got to do with Religion and Spirituality? That said in a country of equality I suppose it isn't fair, but on the other hand a woman usually juggles two jobs in her lifetime - family and paid employment plus she has to go through the arduous task of carrying babies for 9 months of a year and finally giving birth to them. Having knackered herself with the above I think she has every right to retire early!! (Like to see a man do all this!!!)

Each situation is different, the longer you work the more benefits you can gain. If a man earns more money, it may be a personal issue between husband and wife for the man to continue working to reap more benefits from SS.
Men or woman can retire early or later, its dependant on health and whether or not you can afford to retire.

Do they? If this is so, then no it is not fair. Feminism is about equal rights and equal responsibilities for all people regardless of gender; women shouldn't have an earlier retirement age just because someone thinks they're "weaker."

Yes it is. We work harder, we have the children and we deserve a bit of time to ourselves before we have to look after our men when they retire!

Not really since we generally get to live longer. Shouldn't be any difference in retirement age.
