allow me to reiterate--the quickscreen was a urine dipstick done right in front of me. the urine was sent to an outside lab to test specifically for methamphetamine. what i've read online is that the more specific lab ran test will be able to differentiate from any substances that are in my urine (i.e. the Afrin) from actual meth. Any truth to this??? it makes sense to me

Afrin uses a chemical similar to meth actually.

And people actually become addicted to Afrin too. That's where you should start looking.

Yes, that's the truth exactly. That's the point of sending the test to the lab... to confirm a positive test result as true or false. Don't sweat it, it'll differentiate & you'll be fine! :)

make sure the test they used at your job was done correctly. make sure the dipstick was not expired. it is very true that there are false positives. I work at a lab and when i do a drug screen, if I get a positive, I have to send it your urine out for a recheck. the recheck will not use the same test procedure. they will use a procedure that is specific for meth and meth breakdown products. however, if you still result as positive there are ways to fight. get a second urine test done. meth will not leave your system in high enough levels to become negative after three days. the drugs you are taking can affect the meth test.

Maybe you bought a home that was once used to manufacture methamphetamine? Traditional cleaning does not remove the chemicals. Get a meth residue swab test kit and have your home analyzed.
Sometimes, and it is rare, allergy medications can give off a false positive.
The only other thing I can think of is an error with the sample collector/labeler or someone at your work wants you gone/destroyed.
Get medical history paperwork from your doctor, results of your last blood tests and an attorney.

Your physician or pharmacist are in a position to advise you. stable good fortune.

You would have had a better chance to pass THAT test, peeing in a Slurpee Cup at 7-11

As stated above >>>> LAWYER!!!!!

It does NOT sound like your boss observed "Custody and Control" procedures with a reputable Lab responsible for collecting the speciman.
It also sounds like your boss was too damn cheap to send you to a reputable Lab that is DOT authorized with procedures in place to protect YOUR rights.

Hmmmm. That's a tough one. Could it be possible that you have had any cold medicines lately? I know some have pseudophedrine in it that is some of the ingredients of meth. All I can say is good luck on that 2nd test....maybe the 1st one was way off or something.

Good luck.

go to your primary physician have him administer a test as well at your expense. have him sign it and denote call him for any questions. ask for a retest immediately. the psydophedrine is what makes it test postive as it has now become the main ingredient in meth.

fight it. I know that certain drugs and FOODS can make a test positive and not true. eating a lot of poppy seeds show up as marijuana in a test. If you are being truthful than fight it.
