I have a vacation booked in May 2007 to stay at the RIU Jalisco in Nueva Vallarta. This will be my third time staying at a RIU.. Love them!!

The question is: Which RIU resort is better? Riu Jalisco or RIU Vallarta. They are both next to each other and the RIU Vallarta is new (just opened a few months ago)...

Has anyone been to these resorts? Do you see a big difference between the two resorts? Which one is nicer??

Between them I have to say if it were me I would stay at the Riu Vallarta. However it is important to realize that often in resorts that have only been open a year or less you can encounter some service issues. Only because they are still kind of getting the "bugs worked out". Such as with new bartenders, wait staff, front desk, etc. They hire them, but are unsure yet if they will actually work out on the level they need/want them to be.

You might not even notice anything of course, no way to predict this. This hotel though is built from the ground up and I just love staying at a brand spankin' new property!

I love RIU as well. In fact I have never had ONE complaint from a client staying at a RIU.

I had an amazing time at the RIU Jalisco. It is only a few years old and the staff were amazing. From my understanding you can use both hotels (restaurants, beach, etc.) I really don't think you can go wrong. Have fun and enjoy Puerto Vallarta.

Hello, I'm from Mexico and as they told you before I dont think Vallarta is right for you, because the beach is not the nicest one in Mexico. But I recommend Ixtapa.
