Make beef in beer or somthing which you throw in the oven. Buy some nice frozen veg to go with it and a jacket spud and you will have a tasty and low effort meal.

Lasagne is perfect for this. It takes hardly any effort at all and looks like you have spent hours. First brown about 450g of mince. Whilst doing this, place about 8 sheets of lasagne sheets in a saucepan of boiloing water with a little oil to stop sheets sticking together for 8-10 mins. Add a jar of red dolmio lasagne sauce and simmer. Then pour one third into a heatproff dish. place a layer of the pasta sheets followed by a third of dolmio white lasagne sauce. Repeat twice more and finish with white sauce on top. Grate cheese over the top then place in pre-heated oven along with some garlic bread. Leave for 30 minutes until cheese starts to turn light brown. Serve with garlic bread and salad. Hardly any effort and results in a surperb meal. Any left overs can be re-heated (as long as you cover and put in fridge) and eaten within a day.

If you have a crock pot, it's the easiest thing to throw a roast in there or a whole chicken with all kinds of vegetables and potatoes. Put some beef broth or chicken broth in the bottom and set it on low for 8-10 hours. Pick up some biscuits from a bakery or store and you have a great meal !

Whatever you do - Presentation is the key - a bit of garnish, a drizzle of sauce and you are away.
Marks & Sparks have got some excellent meals, or get to a decent butchers and buy some ready stuffed chicken breasts, or some marinated steaks etc, and away you go

Do a roast. It does take hours, but all you have to do is season it and throw it in the oven. Baked potatoes are simple, but if you want something complicated you can buy a lot of pre-made sides at the store - just dish up and heat. And a frozen pie, or make a pie with ready-made pie crust and filling.

Buy a heap of food from M & S. Tart it up a bit, like a splash of cream and sprinkling of parsley on soup, things like that - takes the hassle out of it so you can relax and enjoy your evening. Good luck, it is really easy.
