I no longer have wage slips or any letters from company.
I was paid emergency tax for about 3 months and never got it back, is it too late?

The tax office should be able to trace all your payments from your National Insurance number, but it would be useful if you have the company names and tax references. You can only try. Have you kept your P60's (year end tax documents)?

You should be able to claim overpaid tax, back up to 6 years ago. You'll need evidence, though. I suggest you call at your local tax office where you can be advised further.
