A friend I work with has rye neck syndrome, I searched for information for her but theres nothing listed. I searched all the main Wed MD type sites and nothing. She was looing for treatment at home methods and maybe things she needs to avoid. Basic information.

Try wry neck syndrome, (you`re spelling it wrongly). I think its something to do with spina bifida.

There are many names for things related to muscles that the Md's have not figured out that they are connected. I hope this helps...
Muscles can have knots (trigger points) that make them tight which in turn put pressure on nerves and other things causing pain.
Molasses - a couple of swigs or Bananas 1 or 2 - both contain magnesium and potassium for muscles.
Try working with the principles taught in The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.
I use a chiropractor and massage therapist with it

I would guess the spelling is not "rye". Because in that case, it seems the treatment would be mustard.....I never heard of anything that sounds like that, either.

That's because you spelled it wrong. It is "wry" neck syndrome or torticollis.
