Does anyone know of a virus or illness that effects joints...specifically the elbows?

In the last three days my mom, son and myself have come down with severe elbow pain. In just one elbow! No ther symptoms except for a slightly elevated temperature. It's really weird...are their virus's that settle in just the elbows?

Hey there - interesting situation at your house, huh?

There are no viruses that settle in the elbow unless there is a cut or abrasion at the site and access to a contaminating agent (my ex-husband actually needed surgery because some nasty bacteria got in a cut on his elbow when he was cleaning our African Cichlid fish tank).

This is what I found on elbow pain regarding infection:

Olecranon Bursitis

Olecranon bursitis (inflammation of the bursa a the tip of the elbow) can occur from injury or minor trauma, as a result of systemic diseases such as gout or rheumatoid arthritis, or can be due to a local infection. Olecranon bursitis is typically associated with swelling over the tip of the elbow, while range of motion of the inner elbow joint is maintained.

I suggest giving the family doctor a quick call - he or she may have more pointed questions to ask you all to figure out why you all have elbow pain.

Its called Ulna (somethin) Syndrome.
I think
Me and my friend have it.
She does therapy.
Go see a doctor.

some sort of arthritis but also check for Lyme Disease
