I am suprising my hubby with a Rhubarb pie (his childhood favorite) It looks nasty...like celery chopped up. Anyway it is in the oven and I need to know if you put whipped cream, cool whip, or ice cream on top. Thanks in advance.

all are good, but the ultimate is hot rhubarb pie a la mode. the melting ice cream....the flaky crust, the bittersweet of the rhubarb...DANG!!!! now i have to go to the store and see if i can either find some rhubarb, or a rhubarb pie LOL.

I always put ice cream. Rhubarb is kinda bitter and vanilla ice cream cuts that bitterness better than whipped cream.

my wife was going to make me a rhubarb pie once but she couldn't find a pie dish that was an inch wide and two foot long !

any of the those are good on the pie. my father makes them all summer along with rhubarb goodie & bread.
