I'm sure that can get annoying but you have to admit it is pretty darn cute that he thinks he can sing. Maybe you should try giving him a "kong" ( a hard rubber toy for dogs <--- if you didn't know what it is.) with a treat in it ( or some peanut butter) I have a big rottie and he can get in the way sometimes when I am cleaning the house so I put a wad of peanut butter in his kong and he is content to lick out every morsel for a good hour .
I have heard that rawhide's are not good for dogs so don't give you pal one of those to keep him quiet ...they cause stomach bleeding :S

I've seen contestants on American Idol who thought they could sing too!
To answer your question: Do something with your dog prior to your own quiet time. Train him, play fetch, etc. Tire him out, so that when you sit at the computer or read, he'll probably take a nap.

That is adorable! I think he wants to play! My chihuahua drives me crazy when im on the computer-he jumps up on me or just stares at me til i look at him-cant resist!! He just wants to play or go for a walk. Try taking your dog for a nice long walk. Its good for him and will help to expend some of that terrier energy-he'll come home tired and sleep!! Works for me!!

Mines the same way. Shes a Hound mix so shes got a heck of a bark to her. I get Rawhide Chewies. They make Chewie rolls that take a long time and that will keep them busy for hours! Be careful with "pig ears" they are very high in fat and bacteria. Not good for puppies at all and must be supervised.

You have to train him! When he's barking turn your back on him then when he stops say "Quiet" and unless he starts barking again give him a treat and make a fuss of him. Keep doing this and pretty soon you will be able to quiet him when he is barking.
Good luck!

If you want him to stop, then put him in a room, and leave him there.
Or it might mean giving him more attention.

You might want to talk to your vet about it. Or you could just put up with it. Or you could search google. And maybe you could punish him everytime he does that and maybe he will stop.
