The Bible does not say. Lucifer was not Satan's name. The expression “shining one,” or “Lucifer,” is found in what Isaiah prophetically commanded the Israelites to pronounce as a “proverbial saying against the king of Babylon.” Thus, it is part of a saying primarily directed at the Babylonian dynasty. That the description “shining one” is given to a man and not to a spirit creature is further seen by the statement: “Down to Sheol you will be brought.” Sheol is the common grave of mankind—not a place occupied by Satan the Devil. Moreover, those seeing Lucifer brought into this condition ask: “Is this the man that was agitating the earth?” Clearly, “Lucifer” refers to a human, not to a spirit creature. Isaiah 14:4, 15, 16.

The Holy Bible, as we have it, does not seem to specify a name. The word Satan is actually a title meaning 'Adversary'.
Etymology: Middle English, from Old English, from Late Latin, from Greek, from Hebrew sAtAn adversary.(1)
The only reference to "Lucifer" is Isa 14:12, "...How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!..." (2)
This, when read in context, actually is a message to the king of Babylon, Isa 14:4, "...That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon..."(2)
There is a reference in Ezekiel which may seem to say that 'Lucifer' is an annoited cherub,
Ezek 28:14, "...Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; ..." but the passage is actually referring to a message for an earthly person, the king of Tyrus, Ezek 28:12, "...take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus..." (3)

Isn't it odd that so many know the devil's name, and cannot accurately spell God's given name?
That so many lay the mantel of creation on the wrong person.
That think he who was created is the supreme being who created all. I happen to love both, but not Satan.
And I will follow Jesus until he hands back all authority to his father.

Isaiah 14:12... seems to show that his name meant; 'shining one,' 'shining star, son of the morning'...which some translate as Lucifer.
Ezekiel 28:14... shows he was an anointed cherub.
