My friend is pregnant from a 1 night stand and she doesnt want the baby - she is really quite poor and wants the best for her and her baby. Can she sell him/her to a good home? Is it illegal?

You mean she want to put it on the black market? Tell her that is not how you find a good family that is the same as selling her baby to sex offenders and child pornographers. Put it up for adoption which in some cases it still gets in the wrong hands. Best thing is to have 1 night stands using protection. Babies are a gift and not a casualty. Tell her to grow up!

It is totally illegal. What she can do is contact a local agency that will assist her with her medical issues. sometimes the waiting adoptive parents pay for insurance etc., but you CANNOT BUY A BABY. The fees paid are for the social workers, attorneys, etc., If she is in the Washington DC area, a good place to call is the Barker Foundation or go to barkerfoundation.org.

She can put the baby up for adoption for sure, that's no problem, but to sell the baby... yes definitely illegal.

Not sure about selling it(I do believe just right out selling is illegal) but there are several adoption agencies out there that she can look in to.

Why doesn't she adopt this child to a loving family. This child is not an item. If it is found out she sold her baby she will definitly go to jail. That's why there is adoption.
