On Fridays is short answer. However the ach process for the check to clear may 1 to days from then. Ach is the Federal reserve bank process that gives Your Bank the money, once they get it they in turn give it to you. E file cycles run Thursday to Thursdays so it will be as much as 15 days or a little as 8 days from the day you filled

Here is the IRS efile deposit schedule that shows when they do a direct deposit---based on the day you efiled~~~

http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p2043.pdf

Notice also that it does say you have to have filed before 11AM on that particular day in order to have your refund on the next scheduled deposit date. We efiled on Feb 1 but it was in the afternoon so we did not get our refund on Feb 9, we had to wait until the next Friday to get it. It's still very fast if you use direct deposit into your own bank account.
