in the next stall rips a really great fart. Does one laugh out loud? Applaud? Call out numbers like they do in figure skating competitions? And what if you're the ripper, do you acknowledge the crowd, or remain completely humble and say nothing. I'm often at Midway and this question has indeed crossed my mind,,,what's left of it...

If you are the ripper, a simple "excuse me" in a normal tone of voice will suffice. If you are the audience, there is no need to acknowledge what you have heard, no matter how great it is what you heard.

Well, I am the first to admit I have a middle school humor. I would really want to laugh, but would hold it in as to not embarress the poor guy. He must've had the meatloaf.

Just ignore the guy who passed gas. If you passed gas just say excuse me. To avoid it when you feel the the urge just flush the toilet and do it at the same time so nobody can hear it.

Ignore it. It's the one place where letting one rip *should* be allowed and accepted. Don't comment on it if the other guy does it and don't pay attention to it when you do it.
