Haircut help !!!?

Question

I got some crew comb gel, but I still can't get my flattop to stand up. Should I use hairspray? As some told me maybe get it cut shorter. I know Flattops should be showing skin at the top and crown of the head., I got a bunch of hair there. The sides are kind of long too. Are they suppoose to be shaved ?

Flat tops are cut flat on top..The middle part of the haircut on top is really short while the front, sides along the crown are supposed to be probably 1/4 inch to a 1/2 all along the top crown area...The sides are usually cut with a 1 1/2 att. to a 2 att faded up to the crown.The back crown should be short....After you have washed your hair, blow dry the top sides and front up..Hair spray it or use a stiff gel and brush it up..use a bristle brush....A hair glue by Joico is very good for flat tops and spikey hair dos...Try that and see if it works..

Why a flattop? What is this, 1954? Get something modern, like an Umbrella Cut.

i dont know to much about flat top hair cuts, but i know that if u want it to stand up that gel isnt the thing to do use, u want wax any kind or hair wax my favorite is bedhead, there are all kinds of products in this line that will make ur hair stand up. but like i said i dont know too much about flat tops i did more with hair dos than anything, sorry i cant help but to get it to stand up use wax, it also takes a few washes to get wax out, but a little bit goes along way just a dab will do or if u get the stick just do a little at a time and pull the wax trough ur hair with ur fingers the more u pull the more it covers.

use HAIR GLUE---crazy-- Its a bit expencive for such a small bottle!!!
