Just keep bringing her around other people. Soon she should grow out of it. I was like that when I was younger, only my Mom could hold me. It took me a while, but I grew out of it. My Mom and I have always been close and I think that the way I was when I was younger was only the beginning of how much I love my Mom :)

Be patient and let her know shes ok. Dont force the issue or it will only get worse. Continue to take her around people - talk to her (positively) about the people you see, BUT dont force her to go to them until she's ready. Try one person over and over - see them on a regular basis and talk about that person when they are not around. Get her excited to see them before you go (Are you ready to go see Suzie? We're going to have fun!). Also, if she is in daycare or any type of other provider situation where you dont know or trust them -- double check that - many times, children who are abused or molested (even just once) are scared of new people. It honestly just sounds like a phase that a lot of kids go through and she will more than likely grow out of it. Just be patient and understanding! Good Luck!

Let her be scared and don't force her.You should take her to alot of public places to get her use to people.Go to the mall and put her in her stroller and go walk around it everyday. It's good for her and good exerzise for u.Or there is Chuckie Cheese place.Where there are alot of kids having fun. Just don't force her to talk or touch anyone.Big mistake. She'll get better in her own time.Good luck

A lot of babies have "stranger anxiety." She probably just feels really attached to certain people. My baby was the same way for a while. The only people she went to was me, daddy, grandma, and one of her aunts. It'll go away.

Nothing babies don't like to be held by strangers or someone they are not around at all times they bond with the people that are around with the most.

Don't let them! She won't be so timid forever, but forcing her right now when she is so unsure about people might make it take longer. Plus, even as adults, we don't associate with everyone. She probably won't befriend everyone either....my daughter is 20 months and has just recently befriended grandma.

I would just hold her close, and make her feel secure.
