I hooked up my MacBook to the TV and it didn't recognize the HD and neiter did my Nintendo Wii. My TV is a Sony HD-Ready rear projection TV.

You need an HDTV, not an HD-ready TV. (yours lacks a built-in HD tuner).
You need an HD box from the cable company or an HD antenna.

First off - your HD-TV ready TV does not have a tuner so you need a Set top box for tv to be in HD.
BUT - your Mac book should give you an HDTV comparable picture. It depends on you are connecting with, you should connect the laptop to the computer with DVI, Component (3 colored cables), or VGA(analog monitor cable). Don't connect with composite or s-video, they will not give you hi def.
The Wii does not support Hi - Def, only 480p (about the same as a DVD) only XBOX 360 and PS3 support HI-DEF

You need a High Definition Box for that TV. Its HD READY not a full HD TV. Also, I have a High Definition HP TV and my Wii wont reconize the HD Either. I think there will be a update for that soon.

It is HD-READY. Meaning that you will need an HD set top box to complete the package (About 100.00). your tv can show the HD signal, it just doesnt have the intergrated tuner.
