First off, the word rapture means great happiness or joy and you will not find it anywhere in the bible. As for why the second coming has not happened as yet, it is not time yet. There are those that still need to hear the truth, even those that think they have it now. A lot of what is being preached in the churches today do not go by what the bible says so best thing to do it read it for yourself and let God do the interpreting, not the preachers.

I am waiting with bated breath. My Christian neighbor has a nice house and 3 great cars, that I stand to "inherit" when he "poofs" out of here.
I think the stated belief should be because the Gospel hasn't been preached to all the world. I believe that once Christians find that Spam is a good sources of spreading the word, the rapture will happen within a few months.

The "Exit-resurrection" will happen when the number of believers equals the number of demons on the Earth.
Have fun with that one, all you "unbelievers" :)
I do hope that it happens in our lifetime, I hope this because for some wierd reason I care for all those on this site.
I am hoping that if it does happen while we are all alive that some of the non-Christians will realize that we were not as crazy as you all thought.
If it does happen this year or within the next 5 years, remember not to take the mark of the beast.
A violence like none other known in history will be upon the Earth.
If you are alive there is still hope.
God loves us all.
Peace out.

Perhaps it HAS already happened. How do we know if we weren't the ones not worthy of being pulled out? The good ones may have been removed and we blame it on other things, like alien abductions. We all may just be doomed.

The obesity epidemic has hit the conservative Christian community hard. Many are just too heavy to be raptured.

Read the Bible and find out...
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9 - but read the whole chapter
