From what i read before, hiccups are caused by the imbalance of carbon dioxide and oxygen in your lungs. To balance it you need to exhale a bit of carbon dioxide. So what you do is to use a "doggie bag" or anything similar for exhaling and inhaling air. Put it in your face covering your nose and mouth. Start inhaling and exhaling the same air for about 3-5 minutes or until your hiccups is gone.

I had been doing that to get rid of my hiccups ever since I have read that article. It really works for me. Give it a try. Hope it will it help you, too.
