Oat meal is quick cooking,not much time saved in making it the night before, but if you have to then keep covered to prevent drying out,also add the milk after you have reheated .

If it's made just with oatmeal and water it can be made the night before and kept overnight. That's how my mother always made it. If milk has been added it won't keep.

Oatmeal get hard after a couple of hours and it is not edible .

Why would you want to keep it for so long ?
