Why do dogs/animals and some people smack their lips when getting comfortable in bed before sleeping?

My dog smacks her lips when she lays down to go to sleep. I think I have done it before. Why do animals/people do this?

its a satisfaction type of sound. person is comfy and feeling well. tho some ppl find it annoying (like me) my boss does it whenever he thinks his coffee is good. at 730 in the morning when im barely awake its not a good sound.
