Lent begins on Wednesday and lasts until the evening of Holy Thursday. It is a pewriod of repentence and enightenment that immitates the 40 days that jesus spent in the desert prior to His public ministry. I am agnostic, but I observe Lent. I use it as a chance to strengthen personal discipline. I am still working on what I will give up. Most likely gin.

for Christians having our hearts right with God is an everyday thing not just for a season like for lent. God is on his throne everyday day and the blood of Jesus protects and forgives us on a daily basis as well.
Why would anyone want to limit Gods power and glory for only 40 day??
