I'll be moving my tv today. It's a 44" Philips rear floor projection. Is it safe to lay it on its sides, front or back?

Moved plenty of them.
Best to leave them standing straight up.
There's a mirror inside behind the screen, so you want that to be intact.
Best to wrap it in a quilted (thick) blanket and put shrink wrap around it to keep the corners from getting dinged or scratched.
Laying it down or leaning will cause the mirror to bend, possibly break.
Seen it happen many times..

Good luck, bro................

Yes, your convergence settings should fix it, some televisions have an auto convergence mode (Magic Focus), but if yours doesn't, the manual convergence should work fine As long as it's just blue and red that is out of focus, you should be fine, green is fixed and cannot be moved unless you open up the TV and manually move the can

Use what ever method you used to move it in there, but if you lay it on it's back, how will you get it through a doorway ? Tip it up ( with help) enough on one end to get hold of it, and 2 fairly strong guys should be able to carry it. Two guys carried mine in here upright, because they said not to lay mine down. I'm not sure what the rules are for yours, but I would leave it upright.
