Tough question as it is not so black and white.
Is the Bible a reliable and trustworthy source? for spiritual guidance and faith, I would say yes, in so much that people believe it to be.
Is the Bible a reliable and trustworthy source? for matters of historical and scientific fact, no. True, there are some bits of historical fact but not enough to declare the book as reliable or trustworthy. BTW, yes Jericho existed and yes the wall was breached, but no, there is no proof it was caused by Joshua and the tribe of Israel blowing horns and stamping their feet.

The Bible was written by man and can be interpreted many different ways, that is why Catholics and Protestants often get into arguments over the rules set by God. little details my be a bit scewed but the important thing is the big picture. for instance in the Bible it has the world created twice. This is two different versions of the story. It could be that both are mythological and used to teach morals to the people but the point is, is that God created the world and man has a responsibility to the earth. There are two different versions of the Nativity story. One Jesus is born in a cave the other he is born in a stable, in one he has the is visited by Shepard's the other, kings that were written to appeal to different people the the point is Jesus was born in a humble place and was visited and worshiped and is the son of God. Mostly if every one followed the 10 comandments we would be fine but thoes are open to interpetation also
But the Bible was written and compiled by man and man is flawed but the general morals and lessons in the Bible are right

Logically one must realize that if Father God plans, and He does, to use the commandments of His son Jesus Christ to judge mankind, He must have an accurate written record of those commandments. Otherwise someone standing before Him at judgement could get by that judgement by saying, "Thats not what my Bible said." Father God is certainly powerful enough to accomplish this. Like me, I will be the first to yell discrimination if He tells me, "It didn't mean what it said. Somebody wrote it wrong" I will then ask why He didn't fix if before He judges me.
I know this may seem childish but after all I am a child of the King. The longer I love Him the more simple it becomes.

Yes it is true, if you have been observing as of this date, things and event that are being prophesied in the old testament and from the beginning of the creation are happening in the very right of our eyes.
Now if you are asking if it is reliable and trustworthy enough from the translation to the original wording itself i would say it is not the same but the thoughts will give the same meaning and revelations itself.

I believe it is. Much of it has been proven accurate using other historical writings and in archaeological digs. For example, Jericho? Yeah, that really did happen.
There are some things in the Bible though that are up for debate:
1. Noah's Ark.
2. The Ark of the Covenant.
3. The story of Job.
4. The story of creation-whether it's literal or not.
5. The story of Balaam's talking donkey.
Other than that, most of it has been proven repeatedly.

a solid and truthful source in basic terms interior the experience that it relatively is a made from its age, and reflects myths, regulations, and attitudes that have been worry-unfastened interior the classic close to East. as an occasion, one source of the ten Commandments grow to be possibly the Code of Hammurabi, a sequence of regulations exceeded down via an historic king of Babylon. no longer something relatively new right here.

I would hesitate to rely upon the Bible as a historical or scientific resource, and its muddled structure makes it a bit of clunker in terms of literature, but it does contains occasional bits of wisdom and some rather nice metaphor.

Dear Friend,
If you are a Christian it is perfectly reliable for the following teachings:
2 Timothy 3:16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
All scripture was given to the writers by God. As it was written they were born along by Gods Holy Spirit.
Titus 1:2a faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time,
God does not lie, this make the bible the infalible and true word of the one True God
God Bless

Sadly, I have to say no. Most people quote the bible saying it is true to affirm that the bible is true. Its circular logic, if the bible is a lie then what's written in it is also a lie. Then the quotes used become lies as well.

yup There can be no doubt about the fact that the Bible does claim to be the very Word of God. This is clearly seen in verses like 2 Timothy 3:15-17, which say, “. . .from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
