Definitely, infact since the smaller opponent tries to stay close it leaves his sides open where the taller opponent can pound away. Some very vulnerable spots there as in recent history we saw Bernard Hopkins give De La Hoya the only knockout of his career with a body shot. In that same spot Arturo Ghatti "retired" Romanian fighter Leonard Dorin. No matter what the size the body is the key.

The answer is yes. While tall boxers may have a disadvantage in body punching, they can simply bend their knees and throw hooks to the side of the body. Uppercuts are also useful when going to the body. Taller boxers don't necessarily have the reach advantage every time.

Dave ~
Absolutely man! There are many tall fighters who have had a pretty mean body attack, but I'll just write about one of my all time favorites Tommy Hearns "The Hitman" he had a awesome body attack and he was as tall as a giraffe with a wingspan like a small passenger plane.
He would lay a left hook on his opponents short rib that would stop a truck. Roberto Duran said "He hits really hard but thing that surprised me most about him, was how hard his body shots were." Tommy knocked Duran out with one of his devastating right hands to his jaw.
There's a myth out there that tall guys don't like going to the body of a smaller opponent because it leaves them open for shots to the head, but the truth of the matter is they like to land any shot that would hurt the guy they're fighting.
Thanks for the question Dave.

It seems more likely that a shorter opponet would throw more to the body, as they would want to get in close. The taller opponet should use his reach advantage to land from the outside.

Hook jabs to the kidneys would work quite well, however if you have a height advantage, it's generally easier to go for the head and try to win by TKO or KO.
