When I scold him for hurting our baby or whatever, first he "NO!," then I tell him to not say no and say "yes Mommy" and then he says "Cha cha!" and he's all angry when he says this. What do you think he means!

Sometimes kids come up with their own little vocabulary, and perhaps "cha-cha-cha" is his own way of venting his frustration. My daughter has loved getting her hands, feet and arms slowly stroked since she was a baby, and referred to it as "bunder". To this day, at almost 9 she still calls it bunder. Bizarre, but I suppose that's what makes her, well, her. Maybe your son is doing the same thing. Have you asked him what that means? Obviously, he's heard it somewhere else. Perhaps he heard it on TV while someone was being angry and he assumed that's what he should do when he's mad. Kids pick up stuff very easily.

I would definitely not worry about it. You are getting you point across that is not to hurt the baby or tell you no. My son is 17 months old and is talking fairly well but when i make him angry he spouts off nonsense words. Just be thankful that it is nonsense words and not curse words. Kids will be kids and they experiment with words to express themselves.

You're cutting him off when he's expressing himself, so he's using a nonsense word. Focus on correcting the bad behavior (hurting the baby) not controlling every word that comes out of his mouth.

He is just a baby! He is just learning how to talk. At that age you can never tell what they mean. I'm not saying ignore them but don't be offended by that.
