I see it maybe 20 times a day on this site.

Some christian soul comes on, asks a question about evolution of all things, and then wants ONLY CHRISTIAN ANSWERS.

Are you insane? I tried to put it milder but could find no other fitting term.

people just want the sense that they aren't alone in the world. let them be. if it bothers you so much don't read or respond to the question. granted you typically don't see questions like that from atheists or pastafarians because they can support their claims to some extend or at the very least don't mind a little arguement.

I too find theology very, very interesting... and I'm life long LDS. At first I couldn't understand why Christians don't consider Mormons Christian. We believe in Jesus Christ, the Bible, Baptism, etc. But in my studies I realized why they don't, and you pretty much hit the hammer on the head with your assessment. Most Christian Church's (and I say Christian Church's because most Christians who know Mormons consider us fellow Christians) don't believe Mormons are Christian because we believe in modern day Prophets, Apostles, visions and revelations, Priesthood, Baptism. In fact... if Jesus and his church were to be transported to today, his church and himself would be considered Non-Christian for those very reasons that I stated above... Think about it.... a church organized very similarly to Christ's church in the Bible... with Prophets, priesthood Authority, additional revelation resulting in additional books to the Old Testament.... That organization would be condemned by modern day Christianity, the Evangelicals anyway. But Mormons are not the only one's rejected.... Evangelicals also condemn JW's, Church of Christ, Seventh Day Adventists, Catholics, Christian's who also happen to be Free Mason's. The only people they recognize as true Christians are themselves.... So although I do understand why they reject everyone but themselves, I think the rest of the world would find it very hard to see the LDS church as anything other than a Christian religion.

In some ways I agree and I am Christian. I personally believe that it is unnecessary and medieval to put our religious beliefs in opposition to science. On the other hand we have no idea how old or educated this person may be. I believe that it is equally intolerant for you to call this person insane for what they do not know or understand. You can check the answer I gave that person and see we are not all so against science. Personally I believe uneducated or uninformed may have been better terms. BTW how many churches have Monday morning services?

Easy on. All they want to hear is themselves talk. That is why they don't or can't ever answer a question about the other points of view with a straight answer. Did you ever notice when you hear 2 "christians" discussing the bible they never challenge each other? All they do is agree with each other.

The bottom line is that a FANATIC, no matter what the issue may be, religion, sobriety, what the best "reality" show is, just wants you to listen to their point of view is. They may appear to be listening to you but what they are really doing is planning their next point.

Now with that, I have to go to work while the government employees get PRESIDENTS DAY off sos that theys can rest their "brains"! That's how THEY keep from goin' postal.

if someone wants the opinion of Christians only they are expressing that they are not intrested in anyone elses opinion. i dont use this method because i found that it draws more athiest and non believers. like they some how feel better answering a question that has nothing to do with them. and we are not just wanting an amen. we come here to ask and answer questions and sometimes it is nice to not have to hear hatefull answers when we as Christians ask a questionsthat we only wish to hear Christian answers.that is why some questions have that clause in them.

Personally I like hearing from you atheists. Nothing makes me look at my own faith harder and examine it closer than having to defend it. That being said I am generally appalled by the lack of well thought out answers on every forum here (usually it just devolves int 'I don't agree with you so you must be an idiot'). As you can see I try to be thoughtful and informative here (at least I hope you can see :) )

Oh, and just so I don't disapoint you . . . .

Can I get an AMEN! brothers?!

There's my $0.02

They do. Sometimes they might ask a question for instance Why do people believe in evolution (absolutely sure that evolution is false), and they don't want a bunch of evolutionists filling up the answers by saying the same thing, "It's the truth."

I do go to church. Christianity is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Not just for church.

There are many who post a question and ask for certain others to answer (not just Christians do this).

Everyone's a little crazy at times.

Acid -(u misunderstood me) when i said people make themselves gay , i meant that God does not make people gay - no one is born gay. People become gay because they have been misled by satan or people with evil intentions. I dont think any person truly wants to be gay - everyone wants to live a life thats normal. The only cure for gay people is Prayer & having faith that God will guide them on the right path. Being Gay i believe is a sin & i am not alone the 3 main religions also believe it is a sin (judaism, christianity, Islam)
So i am not saying this to offend anyone , I am only saying what God has said in all religious scriptures / Books

Christians are a multicultural group of people. Why is asking for their opinions insane? Maybe, the person wants a specific debate within a Christian perspective?

If I want to talk about God, it seems completely logical that I would want to dialogue with people who agree He exists.

It would be insane to open a conversation about God, only to have it flooded with people who have no interest in the dialogue, but are there just to tell you He does not exist and you are stupid. That puts an end to any possible conversation, which I guess is your purpose.
