A bad O2 (oxygen) Sensor could be the culprit. You didn't say what year it was, so assuming it is '96 or newer, go get it scanned.

Depending on what year it is you can go to Autozone or other parts stores and they will run the codes for free. Or you can simple buy a code reader and do it yourself. I recently diagnosed a running rich problem with my car by using my code scanner.

Fuel pressure regulator is most likely toast.
