If you are working 17 hours a day then honestly you don't have time for a soul mate or even a casual friend. If you want a relationship, then you have to work at it and it will require some of your time. As for ways to meet people... you'd have to actually go out and introduce yourself to someone. If you are too shy to do this or too intimidated, try the online route. There are lots of online dating websites.. yahoo personals is one (of course).

You could be an ideal candidate for the on-line thing...I met my GF through Yahoo Personals...neither one of us would have had the time, or the common connections to hook up any other way, but it turned out to be the best day either one of us has ever had. This sort of thing does work, and it sure beats the old fashioned way of meeting some stranger in a darkened bar... telling lies, and pouring drinks till you both "fall in love".
However, keep in mind that you may have to change your work habits a bit. You can not get a full blown relationship in a half hour, and if you are working 17 hours a day, you will not be able to maintain a relationship, even with a good start. You have to decide whether you want a relationship, or an "atta-boy" from your employer.
If you decide that you want a relationship, then be willing to put some time and effort into it, and if you are not yet willing to do that, then maybe you should put off looking for one until you are ready.
Remember that the lady that will be involved will have desires and expectations as well, I am sure that she will want something more out of life than to be your ornament. If you are not willing to give her all the time, and attention she desires, then she would probably be better off not meeting you. Ask yourself if you are ready for this before you start.

Just because your life is hectic doesn't mean you don't have time for a love life. Couples have hectic lives all the time. So what is your reasoning? Because your work schedule is too much, you are going to wait till your over the hill to find someone? I know a lot of people who regret not finding someone earlier in their life. Remember the more you let time pass by, the more opportunties you give up, the more you age, and the less attractive you will become to the opposite sex.

take some time to rest from your work, and in whatever circle of friends you have, take time to go out and interact more often. of cuz your circle(s) of friends should have ppl of the opposite gender.
just have a willingness to get to know your friends deeper, and on a deeper level. you may find yourself and another person of a different gender moving from a grp setting to a one-on-one setting.
if that really good friendship of yours progresses to become a dating one..
hmm, though our lives are busy, in my opinion, online dating is a lil risky.... because we tend to tell people what we want them to know of us, rather than them finding out the true true selves, some of our own character we may not even know ourselves...
don't close that door though.
but, i guess just trust God to provide you a right one, at the right time yea?
trusting Him is not easy, especially when age catches up on us, but yea.. just press on...
:)
all the best!

Wait, time is close when you will be asked by someone who likes your way of working & sincerity. Soulmate will approach you when you will be a successful man.
