First off, GO YOU! Not alot of men would even attempt to take on the single dad role... go to your local Income Support office or Human Services Department (listed in the government section of your local phone book) and fill out an application for any programs they have available...food stamps, medicaid, cash assistance, etc. If you qualify for those services, they will let you know and also be able to tell you about other services you may qualify for, including day care assistance if it is offered in your state. Also, ask for the name and telephone number of your local Housing office. They can assist you with housing payments if you rent your home. Best of luck to you and thank you for being a responsible father!

You can go to a local health unit and request paperwork to fill out. I am not sure what kind of help you are looking for and what state you are in. If you have children under age 5.. you can apply for WIC. If you are needing insurance coverage on the kids you can apply for Medicaid. Food stamps are little more complicated.. but you can file for them too. The health unit can make sure the children are up to date on their shots and you can get them for free or about 5 dollars. Good luck.

Check with DHS,, department of Human services in your area. Also look for local organizations and groups. It's not easy for single dads, but most people don't consider that. I'm a mom to 3 and know what you're going through.

you have to give us more info, like what type of help? Child support, just go down to the child support bld, and fill out an app, then they'll make you an appt, then you'll go to court to see how much you'll get a month. If it is food stamps, medical, then you go to your nearest food stamp office, take your lease, electric bill, water bill, ss# for household members, id's, current pay stub, then you see what you can qualify, this may be different from state to state, but it is a start, good luck..

go to your local "family and childrens services"or welfare dept., and get an application. You will have a chance to recieve alot of benefits including medical/ dental and vision, you may also recieve food stamps. The information they take from you decides whether you will recieve nything and how much of it you get. It's based on the income you make, and the income that comes in to your household. *hope this helps*

Go to your state's social services office and apply for programs. You will fill out some forms, be designated a case worker and she/he will tell you what programs you will qualify and benefit from. There are many programs ranging from paid child care, food stamps and even cash assistance.
Good Luck!
