Morals and ethics will differ from person to person. What one person feels is right, another will feel it is wrong. I think Euthanasia needs to be looked at case by case - You really can't generalize between the 90 yr old man dying of brain cancer and the 16 year old who was in a terrible car accident. You also need to look at the legality of it - do you really want to commit a crime that could put you in jail if (as someone else put it) "They're going to die anyway?".

I could answer better if I knew if you are speaking of a human or animal. **I believe the answer to your question lies within the dying person’s wishes.** Many people say that we are not to play God in these decisions. But yet, is it fair that a person just remains unconscious with absolutely no chance of living? People that do not want this burden on their family normally have a living will. But unfortunately a family member can dismiss it. I experienced this with my father when he was in the last stage of cancer. He had a living will, and his wife went against his wishes. Myself, I believe that prolonging life when one is primarily dead, is morally and ethically wrong. People need to tell their family members what they want, so that the burden of having to make a choice is not placed on the family. In regards to animals... When I worked at an Animal Hospital, we told people that euthanasia was the greatest gift of love that you could give to a dying/suffering pet. It is COMPLETELY painless, they just peacefully fall asleep.

It's not morally and ethically suitable for the medical team to do that heavy task!
Let it to be decided and to be done by the patient's relatives

When someone is terminally ill, suffering, and pain meds no longer work for them, yes, it is better to end it. People put their dogs to sleep for a lot less pain, but people think that is ok, but let a human suffer? It doesn't make sense.

I feel when the case is truly hopeless and we are delaying the inevitable, we must decide on quality of life. Let them go.
