my husband and i go 2x a month...seems like everyone else's carts are so empty. We have one toddler and i am pregnant. anyone else feel the same?

We go every weekend, usually Saturday, our day off. We have 2 boys in the home, 21&23, as well as 5 dogs. We go to 4 different stores where we buy the items on sale. I know most people can't do what we do, living pay day to pay day, but we have a store within our house, really. My Granddaughter says it is any way. We have enough canned goods to last at least 5 months, we have 2 freezers, 1 is a large chest type, full of meats and frozen foods. If the electricity ever went off for a long period we'd most likely lose thousands of dollars worth of food. We buy fresh vegetables as we use them as well as breads and dairy, every thing else we buy on sale and stock up. It is nothing to buy 3 to 4 hundred dollars worth of stuff on the weekends.

Twice a year I buy six months worth of TP, toothpaste, shampoo, laundry soap, softner and a few other needed items. I also buy lots of canned foods and fill up our deep freezer. I then go once a week for milk, eggs, etc. There is just my hubby and myself these days but it worked when the kids were home and still works for the two of us.

I shop 1x a week - its probably the weekly shoppers such as myself with the empty looking carts!
