I do not take any medications - just a multivitamin, calcium and Vitamin C which I have been on for the longest time. Dry mouth started about 2 months ago.

I would try using a humidifier in your room at night. I'm not sure where you live, but if it is cold and the air is dry this could be why you've only recently had the problem.

Do not use any mouthwashes containing alcohol before you go to bed such as listerine. This will leave your mouth even dryer and increase your problem.

There is a new product line on the market from the makers of sensodyne called Oasis. There is a mouthwash you can use before you go to bed and a spray you can use if you wake up in the middle of the night. They instantly moisurize your mouth. I have used the products myself and they do help. They are available at any drug store.

Dry mouth is also called Xerostomia. There may be underlying conditions that cause this and one of it is diabetes. Perhaps go to your gp and have a glucose test done. This condition will not resolve until the underlying problem has been corrected.

Hiya,

I suffer from the same thing and was told its due to not drinking enough water through the day....what i do now is take a glass of water to bed with me which i automatically wake up through the night to drink....and i must say after increasing my water intake i dont suffer from the dry mouth as much as i used to unless my central heating is on..hope this helps....

If its not Xerostomia, and your home is just really dry. I would just get a humidifier.
