My daughter is 12. Every summer we make it a point to have her do something productive and this year she decided she wants to learn photography. Does anyone in Manila know where she can learn it?

Hey Jane,

Try 'EverywhereWeShoot"

The colorful and animated duo behind EverywhereWeShoot are about to change the photography, styling and graphic design scene in the Philippines. Ryan Vergara and Garovs Garovillo aren't afraid to try new things and present them to the still untrained eye of the regular Filipino hoping to open their minds. Both artists graduated from The College of Saint Benilde (School of Design and Arts) in Manila finishing Mulitmedia Arts and Fashion Design and Merchandising respectively. They are deeply rooted in popular culture while at the same time, living the independent lifestyle. Their art is a mix of class and decadence, modernity and nostalgia, completely new yet strangely familiar.

I suggest going to the University of the Philippines Diliman campus and check the either the College of Fine Arts or College of Arts and Sciences bulletin boards (they are posted near those two colleges) as different organizations usually offer summer photography classes. Not sure about kids though, but they may offer them or at least you can contact them for better leads. Outside of schools, usually there are a lot of summer photography classes advertised in local newspapers. I'm sure you can easily find one for your daughter. Have fun!

Hi Jane C! Enroll your kid at TalkShop. The school offers Photography for kids. I'm sure your kid will learn a lot from that school. Years ago, my 13 year old son also wanted to learn Photography just like your daughter. I enrolled him at TalkShop for a few sessions. I am amazed by the development of my son. He is so good at Photography now. I'm always thankful to TalkShop for the insightful lessons. You may visit the school's website at http://talkshop.ph/ or contact them at (+63 2) 894-5588. I hope this information helps you. :)

most of the photo classes cater generally to adults. anyway, you may check the "phphoto" yahoo group for announcements on sessions.

you may also call multiple intelligence school in loyola heights. they have a summer program for photo lessons for kids.
