On my site (http://4einc.info) I list various freeware programs that I feel people should know about ranging from music creation to graphics to utilities to help your computer run good... I was wondering if some people could post up a few other suggestions in what other programs should I add that are freeware.... I am also looking for a good defrag program (GUI prefered since I want my stuff user friendly to all users)

I don't need lists of various freeware sites, I would just like the program name a brief bit of info and a link to where I can download it so that I can add it to my list...
As for firefox yes that and thunderbird will be making an apperance in due time.

Clean your cache, = http://www.stevengould.org/software/cleanup and/or
Disk Cleaner = http://www.diskcleaner.nl ,or
Open up IE and go to Tools/Internet Options/General tab and Delete Temp files and History, then Boot into safe mode, = http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406 , then enable CHKDSK, = Click your "My Computer" in the start menu, R-Click the C: Drive, go down and click on properties in the drop menu. When the properties folder opens, click on the Tools Tab, The first item in the list is to do CHKDSK. Put a check mark in all the boxes/start/yes/apply/ok . The PC should be rebooted in safe mode to do the scan. To view the results of a CHKDSK go to Administrative Tools > Event Viewer > Application, look for the most recent Winlogon event and double-click on it.
Then go to Start/all programs/accessories/system tools/disk cleanup , and run disk cleanup: Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Disc Cleanup and put a check in ALL the boxes(Note: Only check the "compress old files" box if you are running very short of disk space, as those files which haven't been accessed recently will be compressed to save disk space, but at the cost of slightly slower access times to those files. Nothing will be deleted or "cleaned up" as a result of checking "Compress Old Files."). Click OK then Yes in the next little window. Let it finish.
Then run Disk Defrag from safe mode. After booting into safe mode go to Start/all programs/accessories/system tools/Disk Defragmenter. When you open "Defrag", click on "analyze", and it will tell you if you need to defrag or not. (or see = http://www.dirms.com ).

Everything on that site is free. Between that, & these sites, you will probably find all you need.
Speed surfing tips:
Download & install firefox. Set options to a different download folder than desktop so you will be able to keep your desktop uncluttered.
Use Extract Now for all zips... You can dump 10,000 zips on it and let it extract them while you go work somewhere. P.S. Saves lots of clicking, plus each is given it's own folder, so they don't get overwritten & its freeware.
Use C-Cleaner to cleanup. Oh, that's free too!
When searching for free software on a sight, ctrl + f for find box, then type freeware, highlight all, shows which are free. Or do the $0.00 depending how it is set up (or amd, ati, any other site your using, be creative)
Right click a link, + T to open in new tab.
Take your pick from these .com addresses:
Majorgeeks
sixfiles
freewarefiles
nonags
cnet
zdnet
tucows
twodogs
softpedia
sofotex
planetmirror
winsite
fileheaven
and many more
Many of these have customizable searches under advanced so that you can search for 4ree ware.

I prefer PIXresizer to Faststone's offering
