Yes, expiration dates are always off because what you possess is a consumable and in order for the manufacturer to make more money they need you to consume more. A month is fine. Two months may be pushing it.

It's probably still okay. Especially if it was stored in a cool, dark place.
Open the package and try a couple of pieces to see if it still tastes okay. If the chocolate appears to have a white powder on it, it's not that good anymore.

Actually, the white coating chocolate sometimes gets is called "bloom" and only means the cocoa butter has separated a little. The chocolate is still good, however.
