i had a pack of chocolate morsels and i didn't noticed its expiry date which is january 2007.. can i still use it? its been only a month

Yes, expiration dates are always off because what you possess is a consumable and in order for the manufacturer to make more money they need you to consume more. A month is fine. Two months may be pushing it.

It's probably still okay. Especially if it was stored in a cool, dark place.

Open the package and try a couple of pieces to see if it still tastes okay. If the chocolate appears to have a white powder on it, it's not that good anymore.

Actually, the white coating chocolate sometimes gets is called "bloom" and only means the cocoa butter has separated a little. The chocolate is still good, however.

Use the chocolate!

i think it's advisable 4 u throwing into the dustbin as it's unsafe 4 eating after a mth.don't always risk it 4 ur life cos save penny spend pound.

I would... they always build in some leeway on best before dates, anyway. And it's not like chocolate really goes off in any meaningful way, is it?

old chocolate that is going bad will have some white discoloring to it.

You should be fine, it might be a little bit more crumbly than normal is all.

taste them.. even though i dont think they are unsafe, i have had expired chocolate before and it tasted like turd
