I was wondering, since I heard that tv's can explode and kill, so in what kind of circumstances they explode? Can it explode without any reason that is visible and suddenly you will get the blast in your face?

Not that I have ever heard of. My ex, however, in front of me smashed our t.v with a hammer and it exploded (or imploded as it would seem) and the glass went everywhere. I was lucky I turned my head in time or I would have got it in my face. As it was I had little pieces of glass stick in my head, so was scary to think if it had been my face.

Noticed I said "ex", lol.

It's more likely that your cat would explode for no reason.

Only a CRT could do anything like an explosion, and it can only implode (blow in) because it's a vacuum. The pressure outside would cause it to collapse. Flying bits of glass is still a possibility.

I've never heard of a tv tube exploding for no reason, but if that's what you want to tell your kids so they sit further from the tv, that's cool. :)

Yeah, Plenty of reasons. Any thing could happen. Someone might of spilled something on the back of the TV and did not notice it, that liquid could of fell through the cracks and get on the wires in the TV causing it to blow up ( It would have to be some wired kind of liquid.) Some one probably planted a bomb.?. TV may be running constantly to the point it over heats. The noise level could of caused it. My best bet is because of the Noise level.
