I'll be visiting Kansas City soon and want to try some good BBQ.
Any suggestions for where to go or a good selection of barbaque places in KC?

Let's see. I guess it depends on what type of barbeque you're looking for. If you like sweet, then KC Masterpiece would be my recommendation.
Spicy - Arthur Bryant's (which is also one of the most historic joints in KC and my favorite.
Middle of the Road - Jack Stack (there is one on the Plaza, one in the freight district and one in Overland Park. I have to admit this is my second favorite.
No matter which one(s) you try you'll make your tummy happy!! Enjoy and welcome to Kansas City!!

Oklahoma Joes is my favorite It is on the corner of County Line/47th Street and Mission Road in the Rosedale neighbord of Kansas City, KS and just across the street from Westwood, KS Inside the gas station.
I also like Gates, Arthur Bryants, or Quick's at 7th street and Cheyane in Armourdale section of Kansas City, KS. I also like Wyandotte BBQ.
A lot of people rave over Rosedale BBQ however I don't like the Texas Style sauce, If I wanted BBQ like Rosedales All I have to do is burn a hunk of meat untill it is dry and crispy and sprinkle some Tabasco sauce on it.

One place that hasn't been mentioned is Haywards in Overland Park, by Corporate Woods.
The thing about BBQ in KC, if a BBQ joint isn't good, it doesn't last long at all! There are dozens of small, mom and pop BBQ joints all over town, they are all different, and all good.

KC masterpiece BBQ has a restaurant there. And there are some by the plaza.
