Circuit City offers Windows Vista as a secure download for Windows XP users only. Go to Circuitcity.com or Windows Marketplace.com for more information. (the price for WindowsVista by Secure Download is the same as MSRP, tax and shipping free, since no actual product is being sent to you in physical form.)
Secure Download requires Windows XP, and a high-speed internet connection above 768kbps. Download and installation takes roughly 2-3 hours depending on your system and internet speed. Once installed, the digital locker at CircuitCity will retain it in case you need to reinstall it.

It is usually not practical to download Vista for one thing, it is a huge file..about 2.4 gigabytes. Even with a very fast internet, that will take hours or even days. If you buy it from Microsoft, Microsoft is slow because millions of people visit Microsoft, and they do not have the Server capability to take care of them all. I really do not recommend downloading it. Also, since Microsoft is often " ip spoofed", that is, faked, you may not be getting what you paid for.
