When they are dressed for work some of them wear coloured or checked trousers. Why?

gives some breathing room if you spill something hot ....wont cling to your skin when you get spilled on and burn the **** out of you... Also keep you legs cooler when around the hot ovens and burners and they are also fire resistant. As for all the new designs its just a fashion statement

Not all chefs do ^_^ Tee-hee, well I think it some kind of an international uniform for chefs around the world...Also, more chefs actually wear white because if some food drops on it then you could see anything on white... Soz really can't be of any more help! x

Fashion dear its called fashion. When i first started cheffing it was blue checks only now you can get all colours. Must admit i do like the harlequins nice and bright and dont show up to much mess during the day.

it gets hot in the kitchen.and they need a bit of air around the
meat and two veg.
