Chickenpox is an acute, systemic, usually childhood infection caused by the varicella-zoster virus (human herpesvirus type 3). It usually begins with mild constitutional symptoms that are followed shortly by skin lesions appearing in crops and characterized by macules, papules, vesicles, and crusting. Patients at risk of severe neurologic or other systemic complications (eg, pneumonia) include adults, newborns, and patients who are immunocompromised or have certain underlying medical conditions. Diagnosis is clinical. Those at risk of severe complications receive postexposure prophylaxis with immune globulins, and, if disease develops, treatment with antiviral drugs (eg, valacyclovir, famciclovir, acyclovir). Vaccination provides effective prevention.(Merck)
DO NOT USE ASPIRIN for someone who may have chickenpox.
Acetaminophen and ibuprofen may be used.
Oatmeal baths in lukewarm water provide a crusty, comforting coating on the skin. An oral antihistamine can help to ease the itching, as can topical lotions. Lotions containing antihistamines are not proven more effective. Trim the fingernails short to reduce secondary infections and scarring.
Safe antiviral medicines have been developed. To be effective, they usually must be started within the first 24 hours of the rash. For most otherwise healthy children, the benefits of these medicines may not outweigh the costs. Adults and teens, at risk for more severe symptoms, may benefit if the case is seen early in its course (MedlinePlus)

I have had shingles (a form of chicken pox) it only attacks a band of the nervous system. Although i am not 4 i can sympathise as i have a four month old son who, more than likely, will in life one day get the chicken pox. I found that chamomile lotion works the best.
