Simply put, it represents to very idea of evolution and that is something they simply cannot abide by. Imagine what they must think of the platypus

Christians or Creationists could careless about your representation of whatever it is that you believe. By the way there are fish today that can do what you describe which, of course, is why you believe that way. So, if that is so, why didn't that little fish evolve? Monkeys and apes look simliar to us so we must be related, right?
