Under the 2003 Licencing act, if the pub is predominately a food pub, ie most of it's trade is dry and the child is accompanied by a suitable adult then yes. Although the Licensee or DPS may object and not allow children in. I have a rule that children are allowed only in my dinning area, and must remain with the parent at all times moment they are running around they are out. I dont believe that children and pubs mix, wrong enviorment, but that is my personal view, since it is my pub I do have a right to say who can and can not use the place!

An English pub(or bar) is really no place for anybody under the age of sixteen. Children with adults do go into pubs to eat at the discretion of the landlord(pub owner etc.) but are generally not allowed in the bar area and have to be supervised at all times.

Legally, babies are allowed if food is served, but the bar/pub can impose exclusion rules at their own discretion. I have exeperienced a couple where we have been refused for having a child (not mine!) with us.
Diddo as others, I would wait until the smoking ban is well enforced before taking children to such places...

Babies are allowed in at the managements consent, although I'd wait until the smoking ban comes into effect. It's nice and smoke free here in Scotland where kids are welcome occasionally.
