My daughter seems to get her lips and face swollen and develop an itch over her neck and face whenever she is exposed to sun for an hour or more.T
This I believe was after an IV glucose given after she had diarrhoe and vommiting when she was attached for a Voluntary Works in China about 5years ago.
Though steroids were prescribed, is there a permanent cure for this as she feels very upset about the lip and facial swelling and the itch.Any dermatologist who can suggest some special permanent treatment>>.Thanks

Aloe vera gel or juice applied on the itching skin, stops the itch and reduces swelling. It also cools the skin.More cheap and natural remedies for itching at the link below.

IV glucose would not have made her allergic to the sun, maybe is was a side effect of the cause of the D&V. She needs expert advice on this. There is no cure. Generally treatment is to keep covered as much as possible, always use a complete sun block on any exposed skin and have antihistamine cover which will dampen down the reaction.

Chemicals that we intake during our lifetime can change things and cause allergies.

At 65 I have acquired allergies and have never had them before.
I blame mine on autoimmune disorder that is playing havoc with my entire system now.

There may not be a permanent treatment. But she should always use a high UV sun block every day to protect herself.

Maybe try analyzing her diet to see if something has changed and is now contributing to the allergic reaction. In my case I have become allergic to raw mushrooms, yeast and certain breads. Mine reacts with my throat clutching closed.

Good Luck finding a solution.

This sounds much more like an allergy to me. I would have some allergy testing done. Sometimes folks can have their throat swell and it can be life threatening. Good luck.
