Can anyone tell me what calabasas is like?

Calabasas is an upscale neighborhoor in the West SanFernando Valley. It is a hill side community that has neighboods dotting the hill side and some of the gated communities cascade into the canyons and wooded areas of the Santa Monica Mountians. There are homes that are mansions as well as some condos and apartments. On Sat. there is a farmer's market in the little town and there is some shopping close by. It has the Motion Picture Home for the aged .

It is the town before Agoura so it is the farthest on the Ventura Freeway people go if they have agouraphobia.

Also, look at the "maps" section and click on "hybird" or "sateliite".
Always gives me the lay of the land and population. If the houses are big and have pools I figure its ritzy. If the housing is far apart and it is just outside of a city I figure it is hilly.
Although I know Calabasas as I lived in the west Valley for many years. It's very nice. Helps to be blonde, tan, and slim when you live there to fit in.

Many parts of Calabasas are mountains or hills, which have spectacular views of the San Fernando Valley. Many of the neighborhoods in Calabasas are gated communities filled entirely with McMansions.

Middle to upper middle class neighborhood. White bread suburb. Nothing special like Malibu or Beverly Hills..but there are several celebrities that live in Calabasas actually..

It is nice - but VERY ritzy. I have always gotten the feeling there that if you don't make six figures & drive a nice car - then you are kind of looked down upon. It has nice shops and the people are fairly nice.
