Oh no!

One tip I have heard before is to wash your hair in soap powder - yes, as in Persil etc. - this will remove a lot of the colour before you apply another one.

It is OK to put another colour on but you might find that the red tones come through after a few washes.

And buy a good conditioning treatment because your hair will be dry and brittle because of the colouring. Hope this helps.

I would recommend going to a hairdresser - they will advise you on the best way to correct the colour. If you can't afford it then buy a more yellow-based (golden) hair colour. Because yellow is the opposite of purple on the colour wheel it will cancel out the purple tinge and make it more neutral (this is what your hairdresser will do). If you want to lift the dye out of your hair as much as possible before you start use a clarifying shampoo and leave it on for about an hour before rinsing and then use a repairing conditioner. Use a semi-permanent colour next time so that should it go wrong it is easier to remove.

Good luck.

Either see a professional, or call the helpline for whatever company's product you used (if there is one). Clairol, L'Oreal, Revlon all have the # listed on the box. They can help you. You can also email them, but an answer will take longer. Please don't put anything else on your hair until you talk to them! I will admit that I have had hair mistakes in the past (when I was younger), and used a color remover (L'Oreal, bought right at the drugstore). It's a powder and liquid that you mix together just before using, and it will remove the color so you can color over it, but it's tricky to use. If you have a beauty supply store (like Sally) in your area, they might be able to recommend something too. In the future, please do a strand test so you know what color you'll end up with.

Dont put a perminent colour over it yet - give your hair a rest from the harsh chemicals, buy a couple of wash in wash out rinse type things to put over it until the other one looses its purpleness - fresh died look.... about a week and then dye over it or go to the hair dresser. Also i have heard that panteen shampoo and conditioner is excellent at removing hair colour ( but usually when you do not want it to be removed )

how about no!! it will go darker! go to the hair dressers the only thing that willl get rid of it is to strip the colour out to a lighter shade and put a colour over to counteract the purple tone in it!!!

hmmm... it relies upon how lots the colour distinction is however the only thank you to be secure is to bleach it blonde and then positioned the bright pink hair dye in it will make confident u get the dazzling coloration. loss of existence ur hair in the present day to wonderful pink something could bypass incorrect and you will finally end up with undesirable hair ur going to could bleach and alter the colour in any case

When it comes to colouring your hair i advise you to use a hairdresser, but if for some reason you can't get to one i can't see any probs in you colouring it a dark brown yourself

get to a salon. i accidentally dyed my hair purple once (i was trying to go from summer blonde to dark red). i suppose if it had been closer to halloween........i ended up with a beautiful shade of cinnamon. if you can't afford a salon just call the help number on the box.
