When i come across books like satanic verses and da vinci code i often wonder why did people over react on what is written in the books. Often due to this the authors indepenence and freedom of speech is lost. I would not say writers are always correct but everybody has rights to express his views. My idea is to build a database of challenged and controversial books and form an reading and discussion groups and the motive of this group would be to encourage to respect other persons views and to encourage to exhibit torence even when the other persons is wrong. It would be great if the reason for the controversy is also given along with the title of the book.
